In an effort to build capacity and enhance community mental health support, Taskeen collaborated with ZMT to train lay counsellors. The initiative focused on empowering 15 young women through an intensive 40-hour training program conducted over 5 days.
The comprehensive training covered the essentials of what it means to be a lay counsellor, key listening skills, empathy, common mental health issues, and their management. Emphasis was placed on interventions and practical skills that the trainees could immediately apply in their communities.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, celebrating the participants’ dedication and hard work. The program received immense support from ZMT and their team, ensuring its success and impact.
This collaboration highlights the commitment of Taskeen and ZMT to strengthening mental health resources and providing valuable support to those in need.
