Speak Your Mind partners have played a core role in the unification of the mental health community over the past 3 years to achieve change. SYM have been able to share ideas, test out opportunities and create global activations that have inspired large numbers of mental health stakeholders to join.
In June 2020, mental health campaigners from Pakistan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka worked collaboratively to establish the South Asia Mental Health Union (SAMHU). This idea stemmed from initial discussions at the SYM annual meeting in Kenya. SAMHU is now up and running .
This is our third Speak Your Mind meeting – we have formed close friendships and collaborations which have been truly inspiring.
This meeting aimed to explore this group’s plans nationally and to explore ideas for what we can do together globally among ourselves and with other partners around the world. We used these days to build up a range of options and ideas and determine what can be funded, why and when. Recognizing we live in a world of limited resources, we inspired one another with our vision and worked out the most practical ways to deliver it.
