The body is shaped with an inborn capability to maintain itself in a state of proper body function. Every organ, gland and cell in the body depends upon messages carried to and from the brain in order to function in a coordinated manner so that each part can benefit the whole of the body producing a full and abundant life. Good health is directly or indirectly linked to calmness of mind.
I used to live in Baluchistan since childhood until 2009. It is a colder area than Sindh. I usually suffered from flu, cold and viral/bacterial infections due to extreme cold and lack of proper sewage facilities. I couldn’t access better treatment due to poor health facilities. Once I started to get bronchitis, which always developed into one of those horrendous colds and by that time, I was concerned about being too sick to take my exams. I could have easily blamed the bronchitis on the weather or the person who sneezed or coughed around me during those days as this disease is contagious. In the past, I would opt for anti-allergic or antibiotics but that never healed me. Therefore, I decided not to seek an external cure or blame any external force this time but I let myself think something which could balance my body and mind as body and mind can’t be separated. There is always a unique connection b/w mind and body which links two together. This moment of realizing my inner self was a major turning point in my life into holistic self-healing and it was the ultimate healing for that particular ailment which calmed my mind and body.
Calm mind brings inner strength and self confidence. It is possible with what we are putting in our body or how we are fueling has a profound and holistic effect on our emotions. This fueling process or food whatever we eat- gives information and material to our bodies to function properly. Right information enables an individual to work in a proper way but if we don’t get right information then our metabolic process suffers and our health deteriorates.
If we get too much food, or food gives our bodies the wrong instructions, we can end up overweight, undernourished, and at risk for the development of diseases and conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.
So, what we eat is a key to our well being and the expression “You are what you eat” is actually valid. Nutrients from the food we eat nourish and develop the structure, capacity and uprightness of each and every cell in body, from our skin and hair to muscles, bones, digestive and immune system. We may not be able to feel it, yet we are always recuperating, fixing, and revamping of body. This depicts that whatever we put in our plate is so very important to determine all aspects of life or position oneself to view every angle of life every time.
My motto is “Eat Well Today for Happiness Tomorrow”.
