In an impactful collaboration with GIZ under their Building Bridges; Social Cohesion (BBSC) Program, Taskeen takes a pivotal role in developing a context-specific mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS) program for Afghan refugees living in Pakistan.
Our mission?
To conduct a comprehensive needs assessment across the refugee and host populations living in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, shaping the program’s development, budgeting and implementation.
In order to achieve a comprehensive needs assessment and holistic understanding of the community, Taskeen’s team, led by Dr Taha Sabri, visited the refugee camps in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar. In addition to site visits, we carried out extensive focus group discussions (FGDs) with community members and workers, as well as in-depth interviews (IDIs), with key stakeholders and staff including support officers, psychologists, technical staff and legal teams, in order to best understand the needs and concerns of the refugee population and how best to address them.
