“Taskeen helped me overcame depression and anxiety”

The trauma basically started when I lost my father at the age of 15. It was a sudden death and that just shattered me. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions. Then life went on, I got into University and became friends with this girl and we got really close within a short span of time and after 3 years of friendship one day we had an argument and we just parted ways. That broke me all over again & I experienced extreme depression and anxiety.

I had fearful thoughts and extreme insomnia. There was extreme lack of concentration and motivation. I lost my appetite and at one point was not even able to do simple tasks.

Initially I took help from Taskeen and that helped me alot. Meditation, journaling etc. were some of the coping techniques that Taskeen’s counsellor suggested. Afterwards, I went for therapy as well , journaling and sharing with my friends helped me recover. In addition, practicing the self love and constantly striving to be a better version of myself every single day helped me.

I would like to say that nothing stays forever. You can get out of every situation even when you think you won’t. Nothing is really the end of the world. Mostly importantly, there’s no shame is seeking help. Go to therapy if you need. You’re important and your feelings are valid. Keep praying and hoping for the best.
This too, shall pass 🙂
