The GIZ x Taskeen PEACE: Mental Health Integration project for Afghan refugees and host communities concluded with a Learning Summit held across all four hubs Quetta, Chaman, Peshawar, and Karachi between 17th – 22nd September. The summit brought together GIZ leadership, Community Wellbeing Mentors (CWMs), and the Taskeen team for a reflective and celebratory conclusion to the program.

The event served as a platform for dialogue, connection, and shared reflection. CWMs shared their firsthand experiences from the field, highlighting the unique challenges they face in their communities and the approaches they use to support mental health and wellbeing. Their stories illustrated the power of local leadership, resilience, and compassion in creating meaningful impact.

GIZ leadership and the Taskeen team also reflected on the program’s journey, from capacity-building to on-ground implementation, and the valuable lessons learned along the way. The summit reaffirmed the importance of community-based mental health initiatives and the potential of collaborative partnerships in creating safe, supportive environments across Pakistan.

The Learning Summit not only marked the successful completion of this project but also set the stage for continued advocacy, knowledge sharing, and future collaborations in the field of community mental health.
