Mariyam Sibghatullah, Advocacy Consultant at Taskeen, was invited to the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in New York City to discuss Pakistan’s mental health priorities ahead of the High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and the Promotion of Mental Health and Wellbeing, scheduled for September 2025.
In her meeting with the First Secretary, Mariyam highlighted the intersection of climate change and mental health, the urgent need to shift from institutional to community-based care, and the critical role of the education sector in early mental health promotion and prevention.
