NCHR & Taskeen commend the Parliament on passing the Bill, and acknowledge Senator Awan & Mr. Qadir Khan Mandokhail, who were instrumental in getting the Bill passed.Those who attempt suicide often suffer from mental illness, and criminalization exacerbates their suffering. Decriminalising suicide creates avenues for compassionate treatment of survivors and reduces stigma against them.
