Employees working in organizations experience a variety of stressors adversely affecting their productivity and causing economic losses for the companies. Organizations that have suffered economic losses are vulnerable to more significant losses if the wellbeing of their employees is compromised and, subsequently, productivity is further reduced. However, if preventive steps are taken in a timely manner, then the damage can be averted.

According to a recent report, for every $1 invested in employee mental health, organizations stand to gain $5 due to increased productivity of the workforce. To help organizations to deal with this impending crisis, Taskeen Health Initiative launched the “Corporate Wellness Program” in December 2019.

The objectives of this program are to:

  • To increase productivity of employees, thereby decreasing economic loss to companies.
  • To help employees learn to manage stress and prevent it from having a negative impact on their health and relationships.
  • To help employees learn healthy communication skills to improve their relationships.
  • To refer those requiring professional support to the relevant clinical

We first conduct a mental health survey to assess the needs of the organizations’ employees. The information gained will informs our curriculum content. The intervention is in the form of online and onsite workshops with topics covering:

  • Wellbeing and self-care; understanding your own mental health and practicing healthy coping skills to help manage your emotions.
  • Healthy relationships; learning communicating difficult emotions in a healthy manner and developing active listening skills for improving your relationships.
  • Others; specific content can be developed as per the need of the organization.

The workshops are tailored according to the following demographic groups:

  • Tier 1: Groups with moderate to high literacy including senior management and executives.
  • Tier 2: Groups with low literacy including junior management.

Each of the workshops can cater to between 10-30 people at a time and are 1.5 hours in length. A post intervention survey can also be conducted, and a report provided to the company.
