In August 2025, Taskeen Health Initiative partnered with Zubaida Machiyara Trust (ZMT) to conduct a refresher training for lay counselors at ZMT’s primary care clinics. The training reinforced core PM+ skills and focused on early identification of common mental-health concerns through clear signs and symptoms, stigma reduction in patient interactions, and practical steps for providing safe, quality first-line support.

The lay counselors were guided on recognizing red flags and activating referral pathways: knowing when, how, and where to refer. The interactive format used real-world case discussions to prepare counselors for special or complex cases they may encounter in primary care. This collaboration reflects Taskeen’s commitment to building confident, capable frontline teams and building sustainable and accessible mental-health care.
