Taskeen Team Conducts Visits to FEMT Schools Under its WINGS Program

As part of the Wellbeing Initiative for Nurturing Generations through School (WINGS) program, the Taskeen Community team visited three schools of the Friends Educational and Medical Trust (FEMT) on 29th January, and February 13th, 19th, and 27th These visits aimed to evaluate the impact of Taskeen’s ongoing mental health interventions, particularly the Level 1 and Level 2 teacher training programs previously implemented in these schools. Additionally, the visits signified the start of the next phase of the WINGS program—Level 3—which involves the recruitment of teachers as School Wellbeing Mentors (SWMs) who can provide mental health awareness and offer support to students

During these visits, the team engaged with school administration to discuss the evolving challenges and needs related to student wellbeing. Recruitment drives were conducted at Learning House, Meezan Academy, and Qamar-e-Bani Hashim School to identify and onboard School Wellbeing Mentors (SWMs) for Level 3. The community team interacted with multiple candidates, and after a rigorous interview process, selected individuals who will take on this crucial role. These selected SWMs will undergo training by the Taskeen team, equipping them to provide essential support to students facing mental health concerns and ensuring timely, accessible interventions within their schools.
