Taskeen Team recently visited Gilgit-Baltistan from 14th to 17th May 2023 to hold focus group discussions. These discussions involved various stakeholders, including teachers, mental health professionals, and students. The purpose of these discussions was to gain insights into the sources of distress within the community, identify the communities most affected by mental health issues, and explore the impact of mass media and social media on mental health.
The Taskeen Team recognized the importance of engaging with different segments of society to better understand the unique challenges faced by Gilgit-Baltistan’s residents. By involving teachers, mental health professionals, and students in the discussions, they aimed to gather diverse perspectives and experiences related to mental health.
Furthermore, the team also met with the AKHS to plan a launch event for upcoming mental health initiatives in the region. This collaboration highlights the commitment of both organizations to address the mental health needs of Gilgit-Baltistan’s population effectively.
