Wellness Department

Introduction

The Wellness Department focuses on facilitating beneficiaries and caregivers contacting us for help to receive the appropriate mental health support to improve their well-being and refer those requiring specialized services to the relevant providers. After the launch of our public awareness program, several beneficiaries started getting in touch with us for mental health support. Initially we referred them to external providers, but several beneficiaries couldn’t access in-person services and the existing virtual services did not cater to their needs. The Taskeen Helpline was launched in September 2020 to bridge this gap and was designed to be a virtual outpatient service offering telephonic mental health counselling, psychotherapy and psychiatric support based on the beneficiary’s needs.

Our team of qualified clinical psychologists is fluent in Urdu, English, Pashto, Hindko, Sindhi, Punjabi, Khowar, Burushaski, Balti and Shina, making our services inclusive and culturally sensitive. Operating Monday to Saturday, from 11 AM to 11 PM, our helpline is a safe space for individuals and caregivers seeking mental health support. Whether you are facing stress, anxiety, depression, or other psychological challenges, we are here to help improve your psycho-social well-being.

Our Process

At Taskeen, we follow a compassionate and structured process to ensure that individuals seeking mental health support receive timely and appropriate help. When someone reaches out to the Taskeen Helpline, a trained Helpline Coordinator responds to the call or message, offering a safe, non-judgmental space to listen and understand the caller’s concerns. After initial screening, the coordinator schedules the client’s session with a psychologist, based on the individual’s language and time preference. Each caller is eligible for four free consultations, after which financial eligibility is assessed to determine continued support. Consultations are conducted by qualified clinical psychologists who provide psycho-social support, help develop healthy coping strategies, and follow risk management protocols when necessary. Throughout the process, we prioritize confidentiality, respect, and accessibility to ensure that every individual receives support with dignity and care. Based on the needs of the beneficiary, they are also referred for psychiatric medication management.

Privacy Policy

All calls and sessions are recorded strictly for quality assurance, training and service improvement purposes, and are securely stored with access restricted to authorized professionals only. We may collect basic demographic information to help us improve our services, but your identity remains protected. De-identified data is used for research purposes.
